Our Partner Success Manager and Data Specialist, Hannah Lloyd-Adams, has been with Plane & Simple since the start, joining the team in January 2021. Hannah plays a key role in onboarding new partners, helping them get the most from working with us. Hannah says her previous roles, with a timber supplier and then a builders’ merchant, have given her a real insight into the things that matter most to merchants allowing her to design an onboarding process and ongoing support that works specifically for our partners.
What does your role involve?
My role covers a lot of things, but it roughly falls into two categories, Partner Success, and Data Analysis.
The Partner Success element covers all aspects of our interactions with our merchant partners, from onboarding which includes set-up and training, through to the ongoing valuable support we provide. This aspect of my role is all about relationships; looking after our partners and helping them get the full value out of working with us.
I worked at an independent builders’ merchant and before that, at a timber supply company before joining Plane & Simple, so I know what the pinch points are for merchants. I think that really helps – especially during onboarding – because I understand the issues and challenges our merchants may be facing. Plus, because merchants have so many different systems for processing orders, being able to understand how ERPs work and how we can fit into those processes helps make onboarding quick and easy for everyone.
The data portion is a mix of internal reporting which involves setting goals and tracking against targets, as well as using data to help merchants, with things like pricing and postcode analysis. We provide ongoing personalised reports for each of our partners to empower them to make effective decisions, exploring where they get their sales and where there may be opportunities to seize.
Where do you see Plane & Simple going in the next 3 years?
I think we’ll be the place to be for merchants – even if you have your own ERP, or your own e- commerce, being with us will help you reach the DIY audience, which is going to be essential for growth and expansion. For our existing partners, we’ll be able to offer more and more value, through additional analysis, data, marketing etc, so the benefits of working with us will continue to grow.
And finally, for consumers, we’ll continue to offer that personal touch that you don’t get elsewhere; for example, our deliveries don’t rely on couriers, your items are delivered direct from trusted experienced local businesses. I think that – plus the fact that we can handle big, bulky items – gives us the edge and makes us stand out.
What’s your favourite thing about Plane & Simple?
I like yellow! In all seriousness, though, I love variety and this role absolutely provides that – I can touch on so many different parts of the business.
